An OMG… Ewww moment

Ever have one of those OMG… Ewww moments?  Like when you catch yourself unaware in the mirror and realize your expression duplicated one you hate on your g’mother/sister/mother?  Or you come to the realization you have your father’s nose/toes/ears, and maybe that’s not the most, er… attractive thing about him?

I’ve had several of those in my life, unfortunately.

It didn’t take an Einstein moment to realize I have my dad’s ears, which he obviously got courtesy of his mother.  Lucky for my kids, they’ve gotten less prominent and smaller with each generation. I’ve gotten used to them, but still, the tight Audrey Hepburn French twist would NOT be a good look for me.

What’s one of your OMG… Ewww moments? Come on. Share.

  1. >I have those moments all the time! I’ve always looked very much like my mother, to the point where you actually get tired of people saying, “Oh my god, do you ever look like your mother!” Sigh. The other morning, after a rather fitful sleep, I got up and washed my face and while I was patting dry, I gasped. Oh my god, do you ever look like your mother! It was scary! Don’t get me wrong, my Mom’s a very pretty and youthful looking 73 years old, but man, when did all those wrinkles creep in there? Yikes!

    >Okay, this is gonna come under the category of TMI, but…once I went to one of those motels that rent by the hour with an ex-boyfriend. (What can I say? We’d just had dinner, I had on four-inch spiked black patent leather heels, and well…) Anyway, there I was, thinking I was all sexy and everything, and he got up to use the bathroom, and I looked up at the mirrored ceiling and….eeeeeuw!!! Suffice to say, I did NOT look as sexy as I’d thought! (Tip: from above, your hips splay out, making them look about a foot wider than they do when you’re standing.) So, that’s my OMG moment. Aren’t you glad you asked?
