Take a look at these trees in our backyard. I have no idea what kind they are – guessing some type of ornamental something (that’s the scientific name, don’t you know). Anyway, they’re showing off right now, getting all the attention by getting a head start on the others. These start blooming from the bottom and you have to catch them at the right time to capture this look, otherwise, you get green leaves already coming on the bottom leaves mixed in with the flowers. I think they’re at their prettiest right now.

We have daffodils, tulips and hyacinths up. Oh, and the roses are leafing out. I actually saw my begonias beginning to peek through the leaf litter, too.

Maybe there’s some correlation between spring, blooming, new growth and writing. It seems here lately I’m filled with new ideas and the urge to get it all down on paper. Perhaps spring has sprung in me, too.
