>Making progress

>If anyone is still reading this blog, you will have noticed I’ve been noticably absent a lot. That’s because my main focus is on writing, trying to keep up with my 2007 Goals.

So far I’m not doing too badly. If you check the meter on the sidebar, you’ll see I’m making fairly good progress on KiTA. Some of the scenes I had written previously, I’ve had to completely revamp, but there have been some really nice surprises, and I’m excited about this book.

In case I haven’t mentioned it before, KiTA (Knight in Tarnished Armor – a working title that will probably disappear when it’s sold) is part of a trilogy which I call “The Baxters of Rock Springs”. The first book had several titles during the drafting stages, and is currently titled A Suitable Wife. It features Sam and Rosie.

Here is a blurb I wrote about ASW:

Struggling florist, Rosie Baxter is fully aware that hers is a business-deal marriage. She needs the money her long-time friend is offering and can’t resist the experience of family she never thought possible. Sam Moreland proposed with reluctance, determined to obtain the advantage in a custody fight in order to protect his daughter. His cynical view of love begins to erode under their loving-couple charade, bringing unexpected passion. But dark secrets must be dealt with and fears overcome before either of them can accept the gift of love they’d both believed far beyond their reach.

ASW is a friends-to-lovers, marriage of convenience story. Small wonder I’d come up with that scenario for my first book. It’s one of my favorite plots to read. Which works as a perfect segue to the question I’m so fond of ending my posts with:

What are your favorite romance plots?

    >Good ones, Vonda. It’s always interesting for me to see how the classic plots are still favorites. I guess the trick is in putting those “twists” in there.
