>Nail-biting time

>It’s now been over six months since my full of A Suitable Wife landed in the Silhouette offices. This week I screwed up my courage and send off an inquiry as to it’s status. A day and a half later (not bad turn around, eh?) I got this message:

This manuscript is still under consideration. We should have a decision for you within the next couple of weeks.

My CP’s seem to think this is a good sign. I’m more cautious. I mean, seriously. ASW could have made it past the readers and the editor to the Senior Editor of the line. But just as likely, IMO, it could have gotten shuffled to the slush pile by accident and my timely e-mail brought it to the surface.

What do you think? Want to weigh in on the debate?

    >Congratulation on having the courage to follow up. I hope you have great news soon. I don’t want to speculate. It would be like driving with my eyes closed, way too scary. I think having the manuscript requested is a huge success. And a very satisfying step in the right direction. My fingers, toes and whatever other body parts can cross are doing so for you.
