Blizzard of 2010

>

I thought I’d share with you some pix of what it looks like around my house today. This first set was taken at 10:30 pm Friday, Feb 5th. (click to enlarge for more detail)

Taken at 2:00 am, Sat, Feb 6th:

Taken at 11:30 am, Sat, Feb 6th, and the snow is still falling. Estimated 2 feet on the ground now. Expecting another 4-6 inches today. Our fence is 4.5 ft tall at the dip. Middle picture was taken through glass because I couldn’t get the sliding door screen to open. Too much ice and snow on it. The guys are trying to dig us out, but it’s slow going with the snow still falling.

It’s pretty though. I’m glad I have a full pantry and fridge.

  1. >Hi!!! Wow, beautiful pics. 🙂 Glad you don't have to try to be anywhere. I remember living there as a kid…we always prayed for snow like this. I bet they're having a blast. Let's hope everyone stays safe. TTYL.

  2. >Brrr! What's up with this Ice Age? It's only 38 here in GA, LOL. Terrific pictures, Carol. Reminds me of living in Chicago. Beautiful, but the aesthetics go only so far when you have to shovel it. That's why I moved to the "sunny" South. (Where did it go?)Linsey

    >Wow, Carol. It's been a looong time since I've seen snow like that. I can't even handle the weather in Atlanta right now (temps in the upper 30's, cold, rainy). I would just about sell my soul for a week at a sunny beach somewhere…

  6. >Hey girl!!! That looks COLD!!!!!We were in the 40's today, but the wind was bitter. OF course, we were moving plants out in it so that's the only reason I thought it was cold. If I had been inside instead, I'd be saying it wasn't too bad…grin…Stay safe!!!Tami

  10. >Beautiful. We have rain here in San Antonio, but maybe something more wintry later in the week. The weather gurus aren't sure yet. And it all goes your way.

  11. >Yeah, Carol, we're expecting more snow tomorrow from that front. 4-6" they say and there's been little or no evaporation or melting yet. Yikes!I'm beginning to feel like I'm back in Denver again.
