Tuesday Tidbits

>Here at home:
Most of my friends in the deep South couldn’t imagine a 10-12′ wall of snow unless I provided a picture, and I forgot to take my camera Sunday. But that’s what we have here piled along the roadways. It’s a bit treacherous on small two-lane roads when you can’t see around the piles and have to venture the front of your car out and chance getting hit. Yikes.

On my nightstand:
Necessary Arrangements by Tanya Michna

Considering some of the things going on with my relatives right now, I probably shouldn’t be reading this book. Lots of teary moments, but anything by Tanya is good reading.

From my DVR:
The Winter Olympics – what else?

In the DVD:
We’ve been watching The West Wing straight through Season 1-7. We’re getting close to finishing up Season 6 and have slowed down – mainly because we don’t want it to end. This show we actually bought all the DVD’s.

Hubby and I watched NEXT with Nicholas Cage on Saturday night for the first time. It was pretty good and action packed. Love Netflix and their vast selection.

Going Places:
Hubby took me to see Avatar in 3D as part of our Valentine’s Day celebration. Awesome movie. He didn’t say so until afterward, but he didn’t expect to like it – just went because he knew I wanted to see it. Gotta love a man like that and I do!

So… Have you seen anything good lately that I should check out?

    >If you haven't seen What about the Morgans with Sara Jessica parker and Hugh Grant, then you must!! Wonderful funny, romantic film–and no vulgarity or swearing, which is an added plus.

  2. >Nothing. But I've heard so many good things about Avatar from everyone who's seen it. Maybe this weekend.

  3. >Thanks for the tip, KarenG! I wondered if I should try that film. It had mixed reviews, but I do love a romantic comedy. 🙂

  4. >Carol K, it's one of the few films I'd watch again – and maybe again.

  5. >Awwww, you're so sweet for the mention! And you're right, it has its sad moments, but most of the fan mail I've got has described the book as a "good cry." And we are completely engrossed in the Olympics at my house, although I was displeased to learn that my DVR apparently gave up the ghost last night 😦

  6. >Tanya, my sincere sympathies on your DVR's demise. Your fans are correct about the 'good cry' part and there is humor too. 🙂

    >Have you seen "Up in the Air"? Wonderful movie that is very funny at points but packs an emotional punch too. Plus it has George Clooney!I saw "Avatar" but can't imagine seeing it in 3D! I think I'd get dizzy.
