#SnippetSunday: His Small Town Princess, Part 2

CarolBurnside_HisSmallTownPrincess800I’m participating in Snippet Sunday again, wherein writers share 8 to 10 sentences from a current WIP (work in progress) or past work.

My sentences are from His Small Town Princess (a WIP), which also happens to be the 3rd novel in my Sweetwater Springs series. These books are sensual contemporary romance full of Southern, small town USA charm and are both humorous and emotional.

This continues the scene from my previous #SnippetSunday post. The preceding eight lines are HERE if you want to read them first. And seriously, you should read them first for the full impact.

J.T. and Cass in the greenhouse/plant nursery one morning:

* * *

She sashayed closer and slid her arms around his neck. “A lace thong in nude, and the bra matches. Practically looks like I’m not wearing anything at all.”

“You’re deliberately baiting me.” His gaze, while reflecting a definite interest, remained wary. “It’s been a long time for me, Cass. You don’t know what you’re asking for.”

“Don’t I?” Her question was hardly more than a whisper, so the sharp double ding of her cell signaling an incoming text was especially loud.

* * *

A Small Town Princess will be released later this year. However, the first two books in the series are available in ebook and print. Click HERE for info, excerpts, reviews and buy links.

Thanks for reading. I hope you enjoyed my snippet! Click the Sunday Snippet link above to enjoy more snippets by other authors.

    “Sashayed,” great word! Haven’t heard it in a while. I’ll have to remember it.
    But a cell phone? If all she was wearing was a bra & thong, where was the cell phone and why would she have brought it along?

    I’m sure she’s wearing more, Chip—she’s just describing what she has on underneath, or maybe what she’s thinking of wearing for him later. And if I’m wrong, I’m guessing she wore a cover-up (with pockets or a purse) on the way to the greenhouse. 😀

    And I think she knows what she’s asking for, though I’m not sure she’ll get it in the way she expects. 🙂

  5. Oh, she knows what she is asking for. But I’m not sure he knows what he can give her.

    Great scene. Love the timing of the text! (And am curious to know what it says.)
