>Back to writing

>I’m learning that I don’t do too well with breaks from my manuscript. I need to stick with it regardless of what’s going on in my life and that’s tough to do sometimes. When I can’t keep going with it, I guess I need to devise a method of getting back into the groove.

As you know (if you’ve been reading my blog), we’ve had a bit of company coming and going over the last 3 weeks and have enjoyed them all. But as a result, I haven’t done much in the way of writing. The RWA National convention is in 4 weeks, and I need to have my revised draft finished by then, or close to it. That requires some really intense writing days.

Yesterday I read through my Synopsis and worked on my scene by scene outline. I ended up with 41 scenes, and it helped me to see the story more clearly all the way through. I still need to check the outline for subplots braided into the plot, but overall I think the book is much stronger.

Today the plan was for DH and I to work in the yard–weeding, mowing, spraying, etc. But a long, soaking, and much needed rain came last night and changed our plans. As a result of yesterday’s outlining, the story was fresh in my mind this morning, and I tackled it as soon as I got out of bed. Literally.

Even with a break to watch a movie with DH, I’ve managed 8 pages today and may end up with more. That’s big for me because I tend to write the bulk of my draft with layers the first time around. I need make significant progress over the next few weeks, so I’ve decided to finally keep up with it in my sidebar. The Reluctant Groom’s new working title is A Suitable Wife. Check the sidebar for updates over the next few weeks.

Sorry to post and run, but I gotta get back to it. Later!

P.S. The movie we watched was GLORY ROAD. Has anyone seen it? I thought it was great, but then basketball is one of the few sports I can follow. LOL

>GA Aquarium & Coke Museum

>Well another round of guests have come and gone at the Burnside’s. We had fun. Another visit to CNN, GA Aquarium & the Coca-Cola Museum means more pictures.

These are jellyfish.

The coral reef exhibit at GA Aquarium, with a little wave action at the top.

Heather (great niece) and I at the Coca-Cola museum. This guy gulps and sighs while you’re sitting on him. LOL!

>More Atlanta sights

>You could be seeing these same sights and making silly pictures like the one below if you’re planning on a trip to Atlanta this summer. That’s my friend Heidi in the red and black, me in the blue capri’s.

A view from inside the CNN building. Great food court, and they even have a book store!

Below are pictures of the very pretty Olympic Centennial Park.
Lots of people seek relief from the hot Georgia sun at the Fountain of Rings splash pad. Looks like fun, doesn’t it?
