Autumn and Falling in Love

Last year I enjoyed a 15-day RV trip to South Dakota. Late October there can be a bit of a crap shoot with the weather, but hubby and I lucked out. One day of winds so severe that the RV felt like it would be knocked over any minute. And chilly! Oh, my. I broke out my winter coat for the occasion.

Mind you, I live in south Texas, so even owning a heavy coat is optional and mostly for trips further north. We don’t have much of a fall and sometimes I miss that.

We camped in Fort Pierre high on a hill where you could see across the river to Pierre. All around us the trees were turning and after the cold snap and winds, even more, so we got to experience the beauty that popped in Pierre along the river. I took a gazillion beautiful shots just before my phone crapped out, and I lost all of them.

The cover of Second Chances (Sweetwater Springs, Bk 4) reminds me of those pictures with the fall beauty it depicts. The book takes place in November and encompasses Thanksgiving with an… er… interesting group of people at the Mayor’s home for the holiday.

If you haven’t read it yet, please check it out. I think you’ll enjoy reading about Jake, the mayor of Sweetwater Springs, and Dixie Jo, the real estate agent who captures his attention. I enjoy writing strong heroines, and Dixie is a pistol!

I’ll be returning to So Dakota in mid-October and hope to bring back pictures to share with you this time.

Do you have a pretty fall where you live? Have any pics to share?
