Another milestone

>Today I received my first reader/fan e-mail! Woo-hoo!!! The reader had only finished two chapters and felt compelled to tell me to write more.

I haven’t been feeling very creative lately, but this may have just kickstarted me again. Can you tell I have a big grin on my face?

Recently, I rec’d another review in the Passionate Ink newsletter and couldn’t be happier with it.

Here’s a snippit:
I was somewhat skeptical that in so few pages Ms. Rayburn could adequately deal with the heroine’s history and her new relationship, but I was pleasantly surprised by the outcome. Not only is Zeenie’s history dealt with, but because Turk is such an honorable man and because he loves Zeenie so much, he’s instrumental in helping her meet and conquer the phantoms of her past. Watching these two strong, special people find love together was thoroughly enjoyable and brought tears to my eyes more than once.

Phantoms & Fantasies is the story of two wonderful characters, but it also introduces a unique and fascinating culture in the Crainesians. I hope Ms. Rayburn has plans to tell more stories about these interesting and talented people.

Phantoms & Fantasies has put Annie Rayburn right at the top of my auto buy list. With her fresh, strong voice, compelling characters and fabulous worldbuilding, I can’t wait to see what she offers readers next.

Isn’t that fabulous? I was thrilled.

>Rainy Day Reading

>
My 2nd day on St. Simons was considerably cooler and drizzling rain. Not too unusual for a barrier island in winter, I’m sure. But being the homebody that I am, I holed up in my room, settled into a big leather chair and finished reading Bad Boys Ahoy! by Silvia Day.

I know, I know. I go to a barrier island for a little R & R and end up in my room reading. But that’s FUN to me. Besides, I’d started BBA the previous evening and couldn’t stop until I’d finished the first (Stolen Pleasures) of the three novellas. Silvia did not disappoint with Lucien’s Gamble or Her Mad Grace either. If you like historical romance, yummy heroes, smart, confident heroines, hot love scenes, and prose that sweeps you into the story and keeps you there you’ll like this book. Well done, Sylvia.
