UPDATE: Congrats to Mary Preston who won the swag bag and a copy of Phantoms & Fantasies!
Holiday activities put a crimp in my writing life plans. I’ve been spending these last few days getting my 2012 spreadsheets in order, figuring out writing goals to target and the like. Already I feel like I’m backpedaling!
New Year’s Day, I completely forgot I was giving away copies of Bittersweet Obsessions (3) and Phantoms & Fantasies (2) to Nook users until late in the day. The_cheap.net posted numerous genres of giveaway books offered by the authors. In part it was to publicize the fact that BN.com now has a gifting feature for e-books. Yay! In part it was to show Nook users some of the love Kindle users have been experiencing for awhile now. All the reader had to do was comment which book they’d like to have and leave their e-mail addy. Easy-peasy! The_Cheap.net is also connected to Cheap E-Reads on Facebook and TheCheapNook on Twitter. If you’re a Nook owner, you might want to tune in to their messages for the next big promo.
Tuesday, Jan 2nd through Thursday, Jan 4th, I’m participating in an online New Years Party at The Romance Studio. I’m giving away a copy of Bittersweet Obsessions and one of Phantoms & Fantasies. One thing I’ve been privately lamenting is the lack of sales in other countries, so I’ve been including the buy links to all Amazon country sites in my promos and I’ve recently sold in Germany and the UK. I’m so excited about those few sales, it’s ridiculous. I hope whoever bought them likes my work and spreads the word. Fingers crossed.
Speaking of that, I was on Goodreads yesterday and found a new review for Bittersweet Obsessions. It was from someone who won it in an online contest and she really liked it – gave it 5 stars and a lovely write up. She said, “I knew there’d be heartbreak in this story after I read the blurb, but once I started, I couldn’t stop.” If you’d like to read the whole review, it’s here.
Tomorrow is Thursday and I’ll be blogging at Petit Fours and Hot Tamales. PFHT is having their 3rd Aniversary Celebration with giveaways all month. Pop over and see what’s in my giveaway.
Okay, that about wraps it up for me today. I’m off to send info to a review site that offered to do reviews on both P&F and Bittersweet. Yay!
I’d love it if you’d pop by where ever I’m appearing and say ‘hi’! It keeps me from feeling like I’m talking into an empty barrel. lol And who knows? You might win swag!
Dear Self,
This is a new year, but I’m having a Monday Moment. There’s no better time to concentrate on the future and leave the past where it belongs. So your last two years were filled with a lot of upset, sorrow and monumental life changes that created havoc on your creativity and writing life. This is a clean slate.
Things have settled down now. Life goes on. Different, yes, but you’ve dealt with big changes all your life.
Put your big girl panties on and dream big. Just remember that it takes more than dreaming. It takes lots of hard work to make the dreams come true. Finish that plan you’re shying away from and JUST DO IT. Start new habits now.
Remember that quote you posted? “The force is always with you–so force yourself.”–Harrison Ford on Star Wars. There’s truth there. Go with it.
Exercise. Write. Submit. Promote. Read.

Dear blog visitor,
Getting started on new habits takes a lot of determination and vision. What’s holding you back? Is it really other things, or is it just you? C’mon. Be honest. Let’s talk…
