Ain’t he grand?

My hubby surprised me this morning with a grocery store bouquet of flowers and another anniversary card. I say he surprised me because our anniversary was several months ago. We wanted to do something special this year, but with two kids in college (1 just graduated) that we’re helping support and a rent house to renovate, it just didn’t seem to be in the cards.

I asked him what anniversary is this for? He replied it was for this years, and that I’d missed the travel plans. Underneath my card were pages of itinerary outlining a trip we’ll take later this year, to south Florida through the keys to Key West, snorkeling, possible airboating, and lying in the sun. Someone else cooking, making the beds and vacuuming. My idea of heaven. We’re driving, and I’m okay with that. All along the way, I’ll take photos and notes of the surroundings. Who knows? I may need it for a future manuscript. 😉 In any case, I’ll have great memories of my 25th year of marriage to the man I fell in love with at the ripe old age of fourteen.

*Sigh* Is it any wonder I’m a romance writer?
