Much better day today. Amazing what a full night’s sleep will do for you. Headache gone and I’m slowly, but surely making progress on Return to Paradise. Most of what I’m working on is totally new scenes. A lot is hitting the floor, but I think what’s taking shape is a better book.
I’ve tried to do the fast draft thing – even on a chapter and it just doesn’t seem to work for me. I’m still going to try it on the next WIP, but for now, drafting, layering and editing in one fell swoop seems to be my M.O. Guess that’s why I write slower than some.
DH will be off bird hunting for the next couple weeks, so I’ll be able to devote as much time as my brain can stand on finishing the WIP.
Got my SASP back yesterday from Silhouette in Canada. Wanda received the partial on Oct. 24. Whew! It’s really kind of scary to think about everything that’s riding on those 3 chapters. Wish me luck, will ya?
Oh, yeah, almost forgot – 5 pgs today and counting. No weekends off right now. Back to writing…
>Glad to hear you’re back to working. you know, fast drafts don’t work for me, either. I’m a perfectionist. I need my chapters pretty close to done before I can move on. I think all writers are different and it’s okay to be a slower-than-some writer. One pubbed author I know says she takes 2+ mo. to do a first draft, then 2+ mo. to do edits and revisions. In all honesty, that’s not much longer than it takes me to get the whole thing done just in a different way. Whatever works for you WORKS. Don’t second guess it.And fingers crossed for you on the sub to H. 🙂
