Oh, Gawd, it’s November already and I’m totally unprepared for NaNoWriMo. The first time I tried it was in 2009 and did not make the–what is it–50K(?) goal or 1667 words per each day of November. Having never written that fast in my life, I wasn’t surprised, but hey, I had more words at the end of November than I did at the start. So…here I am again with a shiny new badge.
Due to a lot of emotional crap that drained over into this year from last and health problems, my word count for the year is…well, let’s just call it dismal. ‘Nuff said, okay? Today is a new day!
Yesterday was Halloween, during which I had exactly one–yes 1– trick-or-treater. I didn’t expect a lot from our neighborhood, so that one kid got two big handfuls of candy. Still have at least 2.5 pounds left. (sigh!) At midnight, The Romance Studio’s Spookapalooza ended. I sent out at least a dozen posts about Insight, Phantoms & Fantasies and Bittersweet Obsessions, complete with cover art and buy links and such during the event.
Today we got a list to pick winners from and I decided to give away six copies of P&F instead of the four I’d promised to TRS. E-mails have gone out to winners, Anne Reeths, Virginia Campbell, Susan (P?), Laura Emerson, Joani Sheaffer, and Lindsey Ekland! CONGRATULATIONS, ladies! Check your inboxes and get back to me.
And now I’m off to write my fingers to the bone. NaNoWriMo, here I come. Wish me luck!
Good luck with NaNo! I know I’m heading to a crash later in the month, but I’m on a big writer’s high right now! I love how you said that even if we don’t finish, we still are further along at the end of the month than when we start. Amen!
