>Ch-cha-cha-changes

>ASW is expanding some with the revisions I’m making. God, I love these characters and their story. It’s becoming more…cohesive and that makes me happy.

Anyone else in the midst of a cold wave? It’s been in the 50’s lately, but dropped into the 20’s today. Brrrrr! Good think I’ve got inside work to do in my cozy, warm house.

>Mail from N.Y.

>I had a large envelope in the mail from N.Y. yesterday–my revisions on A Suitable Wife. They’re partly daunting, partly eye-opening and partly ‘Oh, yeah. I can do that’. At first I read through them, my heart racing a bit, stomach churning. Then I sat them down and walked away, telling myself not to panic. Another read-through later and I began to see how the needed changes would strengthen the manuscript. Not that I doubted they would.

Revisions are a great opportunity and I don’t want to rush into the changes. So far, I’ve just read and re-read, checking the referenced pages to see which scene or paragraph needs to be changed. Tonight I printed out the entire manuscript. Tomorrow I read through the notes again, and then the manuscript, making notations in the margins where I need to make changes.

What little I’ve already read of A Suitable Wife has revived my passion for these characters and this story.

I can do this. I want to do this. For Sam. For Rosie. And for me.
