>Videogenic. Telegenic.

I ran across the term telegenic in a bio on Heath Ledger. Sounds enough like photogenic for me to surmise what it means, but I like to be accurate, so I looked it up. Merriam-Webster’s definition:

well-suited to the medium of television; especially : having an appearance and manner that are markedly attractive to television viewers

It’s not a common term, but apparently the word ‘telegenic’ has been around since the late 1940’s. Who knew?

Are you telegenic?
(I’m having visions of all the people who say yes having had their 15 seconds of fame on a newscast after a bad bout of weather.)

>The Dark Place

>

“Everyone has talent. What is rare is the courage to follow the talent to the dark place where it leads.” – Erica Jong

I’ve been avoiding the re-write of one particular scene in HUF. I know it has to be done. Even I can see that it will be much more effective (and emotional) in Claire’s POV. I guess I was avoiding when I wrote it through Travis’ eyes.

The problem is, I have to feel those emotions right along with her in order to get it onto paper, and it’s one of those situations everybody hopes they can avoid in life.

Where are the tissues? Damn those dark places anyway.

Do you find yourself avoiding the dark places in your writing?

>The winds of change

>I predict that the next generation will be much more adaptable to change than this one. It seems every time we turn around there’s a new wave of technology to learn, a new way of communicating, of storing things, listening to music, and the list goes on and on.

I hadn’t been on eHarlequin in a few weeks. I’d forgotten that they were getting ready to launch a new forum system. Surprise! It’s up and running. I had to upload my picture/avatar all over again. I’m not sure it’s easier than the old one. I miss the outline feature and several folks have commented they miss the spell check and back-to-top buttons. It does have ‘hooky’ things like the ‘friends’ feature also seen on communities such as MySpace and Bebo and gives you the ability to set up your on blog on there. To that I say ‘no thanks.’ Sheesh! There are only so many blogs one can keep up with.

Have you experienced the new eHqn forums? What did you think?
