Just dropped in

I need to update my sidebar and such, but there’s just not enough time right now.  It’s looking like October will be a little easier, or maybe I’m dreaming?

Just dropped in with a Quote for today, but since I’m going to be MIA for several days, I got carried away.

For all those writers who’ve learned to let the house go a little in deference to their writing:

I’m not going to vacuum ’til Sears makes one you can ride on.-Roseanne Barr-

And for all those feeling the pain and angst of the blank page:
Writing is long periods of thinking and short periods of writing. …Ernest Hemingway
And
Gene Fowler:   Writing is easy.  All you do is stare at a blank sheet of paper until drops of blood form on your forehead.
Happy writing!

Katrina: a tough bitch to get over

Over on Charlotte Dillon’s blog, she’s giving us a fascinating day-by-day first-hand account of what it’s like to prepare for a hurricane, fret over what is the right decision, worry about things like survival and pets and what you’ll return home to.  Charlotte is still going through the aftermath.  Another of her posts gives a view of what’s happening in her little town of Bogalusa. It’s fairly cut off from everything and necessities like electricity and phone service remain inconsistent. A recent shipment of bread and ice were cause for rejoicing.

The world left behind by Hurricane Katrina still suffers. Read for yourself what it’s like and if you’ve nothing left to give – leave a comment of encouragement and support.

Quote for today:  Every time I close the door on reality, it comes in through the windows.  -Jennifer Unlimited-
