Catching up…

6/19/04:

Life has been topsy-turvy lately and I haven’t written much – especially not here.

I finally heard from Arabella. They ‘passed’ on “Mr. Dependable” and didn’t mention the light paranormal so I can only surmise they’re still deciding on it.

I hope…I hope…I hope…

No big news on the writing front. But on a personal note… the gov’t is transferring my DH to Atlanta, Georgia. We’ll be leaving the sunny isles of Hawaii sometime in the second half of July. We accepted a contract on the condo within a day of listing it. DH’s boat sold the same day. Now we’re into house-hunting mode on the internet and for real the end of this month.

I’m planning on attending the Moonlight & Magnolias Conference in October with my CP (who also lives in Georgia)and am excited about meeting her in person. We’ve had some great brainstorming sessions on-line. Hopefully, we’ll get to met & have lunch sometime during the house-hunting trip.

Other than facing the empty nest syndrome and wondering how long I’ll have to wait for my computer to cross the ocean, I’m surviving the chaos.

That’s all for now.

And so it goes…

Sat., May 22, 2004:

Well, May 15th has come and gone. Still haven’t heard from Arabella on “Mr. Dependable”. Can’t decide whether to e-mail them or wait. Probably wait until the end of the month.

I finally e-mailed RWA (Romance Writers Assoc.) & got my scores for the 2003 Golden Heart contest. I didn’t do too badly for a newbie. My scores were 8,7,8,7 & 5 (top score is 9). Overall I was pleased to have done that well. Will have to tackle revisions on The Reluctant Groom along with finishing up the last 4-5 chapters of The Perfect Stranger (now titled Forever Kind of Guy or FKOG).

Writing has been slow lately. I need to really buckle down & finish FKOG. There are other books running around in my head, making me want to get them down on paper, too.

Later…

Past info from my website diary…

April 24, 2004

Nothing new to report, really. I’ve heard some people are getting their Golden Heart scores back. As usual, Hawaii mail is behind everyone else. Haven’t seen anything yet. Work is progressing slowly on Forever Kind of Guy. I need more structure to my schedule. I did send off a light paranormal to Arabella magazine last night. If they stay true to their website time frame, I should hear back on “Mr. Dependable” by May 15th and the paranormal by August 23rd – my daughter’s birthday. 🙂

February 23, 2004

Received HAR rejection on TRG. Good thing I’m firmly embroiled in my 2nd WIP, A Perfect Stranger.

January 15, 2004

Submitted my short story,”Mr. Dependable” to Arabella magazine.

December 30, 2003

Mailed off the Query letter and Synopsis on The Reluctant Groom (TRG) to Harlequin American Romance (HAR) in Canada. My very first manuscript and my very first submission. Wish me luck, okay? Now the waiting game starts. Visit my website .
