In the wee hours of this morning, I e-mailed my partial and synopsis off to Harlequin’s Medical Romance line in the UK. Four hours later, I had a heads-up e-mail that they’d received it. Yay! Now I’ve got to get busy writing the rest of the story and keep a hopeful mindset.
It was really great to have the editor feedback from the online pitch. I was able to head off some potential problems before sending the manuscript in. At least I hope I fixed them. I expanded my hero’s conflict and did some brainstorming on affecting other avenues of his life with problems from his background. Fingers crossed.
I hope all my fellow writers out there are busy following your dreams as well. Feel free to drop me a line here and let me know how things are going.
Off topic, but the weather across the United States has been crazy lately. We’ve had a lot of rain. Our garden plot is total mush, so while the weekend is forecasted to be beautiful – sunny and quite warm – I don’t see any planting getting done. Boo. All my lovely starter plants will have to be happy in their seedling homes for another few days.
I can’t imagine what it must be like to be working with professionals of this level. Luck is really for gamblers and the insecure, so I’d rather wish you success!
