>Sunday Summary

>Some weeks just fly by and this one did. I kept meaning to get over here and blog, but it never happened.

No changes on the progress meters this week. Instead of new pages, I’m working on editing HER UNEXPECTED FAMILY, getting the full ready to send to Susan Litman at Silhouette Special Edition. BIG thanks to Darcy and Linda for reading through the entire manuscript in a short timeframe, catching my flubs and giving me their feedback. You ladies are awesome!

In my last post, I mentioned a non-writing related nail-biter. That situation is close to being resolved. Another couple of weeks and I’ll have something concrete to tell you.

The RWA National convention was in San Francisco this weekend and should be over now. I hate that I couldn’t make it this year and can’t wait to hear all the news from friends who did go. I have been following several of the LB&LI (Left Behind & Loving It!) workshops. For those of you who didn’t hear, Lynn’s Paperback Writer blog gives you a list of workshops and such. I couldn’t participate much, but there’s great information to be had. Check them out.

And in a personal note: I’ve been trying to eat smarter. Hubby and I have been counting Weight Watcher points. I’m down 3 pounds. Yay! Those of you who frequent this blog may have noticed that the ‘Today’s Menu” addition has been absent for some time. The reason for that is hubby has been working out of town a lot and I’m not cooking nearly as much. But this weekend he’s home, so here’s our easy-peasy menu…
============
Today’s Menu:

Grilled venison hamburgers (very low fat) with fixin’s and reduced-fat provolone 🙂
Klondike gourmet and petite potatoes, seasoned and roasted

Iced tea

>Nail biting and more nail biting…

>Hey, don’t rag on me! I don’t really bite my nails. Never have, think it’s icky, and my nails are too strong, but the concept works for this blogpost, okay?

First of all, one nail-biting situation has been put to rest: Susan Litman passed on A SUITABLE WIFE – for now. ( ?? )

Now, another nail-biting situation arises. She wants to see the next book in the series: HER UNEXPECTED FAMILY and thinks I have a strong voice. Yay!

And on the home front (not writing related), there’s another nail-biting deal that’s been going on for months and I can’t really talk about it–yet. Today could be the day we get some answers that will put the matter to rest. I’m on the fence. Dunno whether to wish one way or the other. (sigh). I’m just tired of being on an emotional teeter-totter.

What do you think? Should I concentrate on the positives here, break out the champagne I’ve had chilling in honor of another request?

>Massive Turnaround

>This week shot all to hell the great writing momentum I had going. Several events came together to highjack my routine something awful. One of them (and the biggest impact) I wouldn’t change anyway. So, I’m bummed that writing progress was slow this week, but not unhappy with the week overall. Tomorrow is my local chapter meeting, so the day will pretty much be shot. I might get a few pages written on Sunday.

To be honest, I can’t blame the writing snag completely on outside events. At the same time, I hit a snag in HNWW (Husband Needed, Wife Wanted) and that was the WIP I’d been going lickity-split on. *sigh*

Oh, well. After Sunday, it’s a new slate, new week, and I still have a good shot at the 100 pages I set as a goal this month. Wish me luck!

Just curious… Do you set short term and long term goals? Do you obsess when things go awry, or do you dust yourself off and begin again?
