An Alice in Wonderland #wedding?

???????????????????????????????My daughter marches to her own unique drummer. Plans for her wedding follow that trend, so I shouldn’t have been surprised when she and her fiancé chose an Alice in Wonderland themed wedding. Nothing outlandish or crazy since she picked out a traditional wedding dress, but she wants to be married in her back yard and have AiW motifs.

I’ve found several intriguing ideas and have saved them in my Pinterest account in the “Wedding Plans” board. Check it out if you’re interested. Some ideas we’ve come up with are to have bow ties or cravats for the groom and his men in a silk AiW fabric. They might wear top hats with a playing card tucked into the band.

TEA_MC900100374[1]The bridesmaids could also wear smaller top hats, perhaps worn at a jaunty angle with bright plumed feathers, or they could carry small nosegays wrapped with the same fabric that their groomsman partner wears in his tie.

We can definitely have a heavy post or two with crazy directional signs.

Anyone out there have ideas to add or know of websites you could share where we might get more ideas? I’m open to suggestions.

  1. Does this make you, the mother, the Queen of Hearts? This could get curiouser and curiouser. (I can relate. I would have had a Star Wars wedding without much prompt at all).

You caught me off guard with this one. Maybe rabbits included in the arrangements on the tables, bright colored napkins, tea pots. Sounds like a fun wedding.
