Livestock escapees and phone tag

For those of you who don’t already know, I live in a rural area. More rural than I’d have it some time. So yesterday I get this call from Hubby that the neighbor’s cow is out and about in the neighborhood. Not your everyday phone call, but more surprising is that Hubby is in Denver this week. It seems Neighbor #1 didn’t have Neighbor #2’s phone number and thought Hubby might have it. He didn’t, but I did. I called Neighbor #2 and she brought the escaped cow home.

This morning Neighbor #2 woke me with news there are three stray donkey’s bothering Neighbor #3’s horses, which we let run our pasture. Neighbor #2 was on her way to town and didn’t have the Sheriff’s number in her phone. A quick lookup and phone call to the Sheriff’s office took care of that.

While neither of these things are the norm around here, things usually happen in three’s.  I’m wondering what other livestock my neighbors might have that could roam our yards and road. So far a cow and donkeys. What’s next, a sheep or goat, maybe a Llama?

What out-of-the ordinary stuff has happened to you lately?

MIA

Yep, that’s me – MIA. I’ve been missing from the blog lately and there’s been action going on, just not here. 🙂

I’ve got a major project in the works that has a fast deadline, so I’m spending the majority of my time working on that. I’ll reveal more on that at a later date.

Another project I’ve been helping to work on is a new web look for my group blog Petit Fours and Hot Tamales. We’ve had a couple of setbacks, but we’ll unveil that very soon.  I think it’s coming along nicely and looks pretty sweet.

So that’s what I’ve been up to.  How about y’all? What’ve you been doing?

Thinking caps needed

Can you help a girl out? I need a list of medical professions for hero or heroine of a romance novel that is off the beaten path. No doctor or nurse unless the specialty isn’t gross. And if it’s a really obscure job, a small description of what they do would be helpful.

Come on. I know there must be dozens, but I’m drawing a blank other than EMT. I can’t think of any friends who work in clinics/hospitals or I’d call them. Throw any and all ideas out there. You never know what might work…

Anything?
