Yep. This one is ALL about the covers. They don’t have to be steamy just ones that make you gasp and go..oh my, I NEED this book. Now! Those that are truly…covergasm-worthy.
Some of my favorite covers are ones that depict emotion and tenderness between the couple . . . or a hot cowboy. 😀 The colors in these work for me too:
I love all my book covers, (which you can see at the bottom of this post) but today I’m debuting one that will release later this summer. It’s an erotic romance that takes place primarily in Hawaii when co-workers plan a hot vacation fling.
Sunset Beach Sizzle has plenty of heat and is the first in my Tropical Heat Series. I thought cover artist Dar Albert of Wicked Smart Designs did a fabulous job with the colors and the sexy-sensual feel I wanted. She’s very talented and created a sensational logo for the series too.

The font can’t be distracting. I like when there are physical objects instead of people. The title is also a huge draw

The colors draw my attention first. I don’t always need models on the cover. Sometimes beautiful graphics work for me.

2) the image (an interesting object or picture);

a) the sexiness / sensuality: not exactly the sensuality, but the general mood – the cover must indicate what I’ll find inside the book.
b) the colors – I think is the most important element to bring the right feelings.
c) clean, readable fonts – for me it doesn’t necessarily need to be clean, but it must match the mood of the cover, and every cover needs a beautiful font combination (that covers that have just one font for everything seems very homemade).
If I see a sophisticated cover (in terms of design), I imagine a well written and edited book.
PS* love the colors of Sunset Beach Sizzle! 🙂

I was going to put author in there….but I auto-buy my favorite authors and series — so the cover really isn’t as important.
Thanks for the amazing giveaway!

B, C, & F. Everything has to mesh well and match. If I can tell a cover is a bunch of things photo shopped together, it’s an instant turn-off. Thanks for the giveaway!
