Invisible

You know how you can have IM open, but have Yahoo show you as invisible? Well, I’m here, but I’m not here. HUH? I’m online from time to time, and I’ll be sitting at the keyboard a lot. Typing. Writing. Hello… not available or “invisible”. So, I may not be posting as much here. I haven’t joined NANOWRIMO, or whatever it’s called, but I’ve given myself a deadline. Will try to update the little meter on the sidebar from occasionally, but don’t count on any long diatribes or clever posts (like I’ve ever had one *rolling eyes*).

Junk Mail Banned

My hubby & I came home from a week long trip recently to a shopping bag 1/2 full of our mail collected by a neighbor.  I’m talking a handled shopping bag – the kind you pay for at the nicer department stores.

Now that’s quite the mother lode of mail.  In weeding out the pertinent from the junk, I realized dozens (yes, literally dozens!) of pieces of mail were credit card offers.  Not only did I waste valuable time opening them (some were well disguised), but some were sent 2-3 times from the same company.  Can’t just chunk those in the trash, gotta take the time to rip them up.  More time wasted.

Then DH was listening to Clark Howard on NPR and jotted down a tidbit I thought I’d share with those of you who are sick and tired of receiving so many unwanted credit card offers.  There’s a phone number or website where you can opt out from receiving these offers, for as long as you wish.  The process can be reversed, should you ever find yourself with a dearth of credit cards.  This agency is the official Consumer Credit Reporting website and your request to opt out/in goes to Experian, Equifax, Innovis & TransUnion.  The addy is www.optoutprescreen.com and the phone # is 1-888-567-8688.

Knock yourself out – get rid of a ton of junk mail.  I did.
