>Gotta gripe!

>I gotta gripe. Ever once in awhile you just gotta, ya know?

Anyways, my gripe is about chain e-mails. You know the ones I’m talkin’ about:

“Send this back to me and 8 other people and something great will happen to you. Delete it and horrible boils will make your arm fall off.”or something to that effect.

Let’s get one thing clear right off the bat. I hate them. I get way too many of them, sometimes more than once. Yep, you guessed it. If I have a friend in common with another friend and they really do send these to each other and 8 other people, guess who’s going to end up on their lists more than once?

Then there’s the religious ones that try to guilt you into sending it forward. The gist of those is that your ashamed of God if you don’t forward and you love Him and are proud of it if you do. Oh, come on, people! I’m supposed to use e-mail to testify now? My relationship with God or pride in my beliefs has nothing whatsoever to do with whether I even open or read to the end of those things, let alone send them along to clog up someone else’s e-mail. If you’re not ashamed of Him, pass this along to as many unsuspecting people you can and annoy them today. Yeah, that’ll win them over.

But I must say the most infuriating in the world for me are the ones that diss a political candidate. I keep my political views to myself for the most part, but some people assume (remember what that word does for u and me???) that if you’re their friend, you must support the same goober they do and voila, I get e-mails lambasting the guy I support. It’s propaganda, folks! Whether it’s for your guy or the other one, it’s gonna be slanted to put one in the best light and the other in the worst. Oh, and here’s a broad hint… the truth is often s-t-r-e-t-c-h-e-d to the limit on these babies, both on the good of one candidate and the bad of the other. Hint #2? They’ve all got failings. They’re human. None of them have sprouted wings, yet and I doubt they ever will.

I could go on and on regarding the other crap that is passed along in e-mails, but then I’d annoy you because this is getting too long – and that’s all I really had to say anyway.

Whew! I feel better.

Go on, admit it. Somewhere in the reading of this post, you agreed with me, even if it was in the first paragraph.

Have a nice day! Come back soon.

  1. >YES!!! I just delete them. I figure God is not so petty as to curse me because I didn’t pass on an email. 🙂 I hate the darned things too. I did once get a great one though. It’s this little character that brings out a soap box, stands on it, and proceeds to tell you all the things that will NOT happen if you don’t pass on chain emails. 🙂 Loved that one. I sent that one to all the people who routinely chain email me. Not a one of them got the message because I STILL get those darned emails from the same folks.

    >I remember that one, too. Loved that little guy and his tirade! I think it was from soapbox.com. Maybe we should start that one around again and again and again…LOL!

    >Not only does it piss me off, it pisses me off when people don’t use the BCC and clean up the stupid email. Not that I’ll bother reading it but….I have Comcast and when you check your mail through webmail you can click on an eamil and then click “report as spam”The Biggest offender? My father. I deleted my email address because of him, told him so then he turned around and started sending it to my work address. Yeah, he got hate mail for that.

    >Cece, that too! Sometimes (when I actually DO open some, the actual e-mail is so far down past all the e-mail names and forwards, I’m not even sure there IS a msg attached. LOL Ridiculous!Lynn – me too. Most of mine just get deleted. I even tried putting a notice in my sig line for people to NOT send me chain e-mails because they’d end w/me. Didn’t work.

    >Loved, this! YES! I delete them too! Even the sappiest, “girlfriendliest,” religious–I don’t care. Del, del, del. And how about the ones where some guy is gonna share a portion of the $30 million his dead relative filched from the government? Those I forward to a special treasury email address that’s supposed to investigate the suckers.
