>The Pointer Sisters…

>sang “I’m so excited, and I just can’t hide it. …” and boy can I relate. Ever since I received that request for revisions yesterday, I have these euphoric moments where I just have to stop and SQUEEEEE! The cat jerks awake and the dogs stare at me wild-eyed, but they get over it and so do I–for a few minutes.

In between times, I’ve been trying to concentrate and get some writing done. And there’s a sense of urgency to do so. I keep having to remind myself this is just another step forward. It’s not a sale, nor a guarantee of one. I could do the revisions and still get rejected by Sr. Editor, Gail Chasan. She might not have the same enthusiasm for my voice that Susan does.

Even so, I’m clinging to that urgency because it’s good to have it pushing me. I need to get HUF polished and the synopsis complete. If ASW doesn’t sell, I need to have something else for them to consider. And then there’s the 3rd book in the series to write.

SQUEEEEE!! Shut up and write, Carol.

    >I know it’s smart to be practical. But go ahead and enjoy your excitement. We spend so much of our time buckled down and writing, nervous wrecks waiting, and once in a while blue because of disappointments. I, for one, am vicariously enjoying your success. So, keep up the celebration!
